ROBERT C NELSON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Nelson, our loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who passed away on Saturday May 7th at the age of 89.

Bob was born December 20, 1932 to loving parents Bert and Hattie Nelson in Beatrice Nebraska. When he was three years old his family moved to St. Helens, Oregon.  In 1951 he moved to San Jose, California with his Mother and Stepfather where he enlisted in the Army and a few years later met and married his wife Leila in 1953.

Bob lived and worked in the San Jose area until 1988 where he raised his children and led a very successful career for 33 years as a Quality Control Technician at IBM. Upon his retirement he relocated to Tracy and then moved to Mariposa in 1994. 

His sense of humor, the love he had for his children and grandchildren and his overall joy for life will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Leila (2004) and daughter Samantha (2014).  He is survived by his children Kim Cargill (Nelson) and spouse Michael Cargill of San Jose, Loren Nelson and spouse Kristine Nelson of Palm Desert, Robert Nelson and spouse Jennifer Nelson of Searcy, AR, Lizzie Swallow (Nelson) and spouse Darold Swallow of Mariposa and 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life Friday June 17th at 1 pm.  Mariposa Funeral Home, 4981 9th Street, Mariposa, CA 95338.
