It is with sad hearts that the Seymour family announces the passing of Carmen Leiva. Born Feb. 10, 1920, in San Francisco, she passed away on March 4, 2020, at her home in Mariposa.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, known to all of her family as “Gramdmama.”
Carmen Leiva leaves behind two daughters, Gerry and Elaine, and their spouses, Fred Van Guilder and Tom Seymour. Also, many other closely connected family members, including 32 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
We feel a huge sadness and void in our daily lives, as she has been a part of our days for so many years. We will miss our conversations with our Grandmama regarding her life experiences, which so ofter riveted our attention.
The Seymour family would like to respectfully recognize the health concerns of our community, and postpone the Mass and memorial for Carmen Leiva that was to take place on Saturday, March 21 at St. Josephs. The date for the Mass will be announced at a later date. Please feel free to donate to Valley Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
Grandmama, you are so greatly missed.
